D Gnak LFWM SS18 – Fated & Fabled

D Gnak LFWM SS18

http://havanatranquility.com/daeso/1697 D. GNAK hosted their SS18 collection in London for the first time and the South Korean brand displayed their simplistic yet elegant silhouettes. The brand’s inspiration for the uniquely structured styles was from the Chinese word:因. In English this translates as ‘inevitable interaction’ or the coming together of two unstoppable forces, yin and yuan.

There was a miscellany of straight cut tailored garments of trousers, shirts, jackets and fabulous ready to wear dresses, alongside oversized jackets and culottes,  creating a diverse collection. Tailored silhouettes were perfectly finalised with strings, zips, belt loops and buckles which symbolised the hyperconnected world, producing riveting garments. Whilst the collection was dominated by black tones, a stand out feature was the embroidered trailing red threads, referencing the red string of fate, an ancient Chinese myth that says that the Gods tied an invisible red thread around the ankles of everyone destined to meet. This thread may stretch or tangle, but it will never break.
