This season, F. H. Christensen presented her exquisite SS19 collection, ‘Rainbow.’ Showcasing sublime pieces, from satin duchesse tailored suits, to silk velvet ball gowns and cocktail dresses, each piece was handmade from the finest sustainable fabrics sourced throughout Europe.
The collection was inspired by the beautiful tones of rainbows, which were integrated into every piece, treating us to extravagant tones of turquoise, rose-red and blood orange. The ready-to-wear collection catered for every occasion, from a glamorous party to the red carpet, enriched with beauty through the luxurious beading and intricate embroidery. We also saw opulent patterns, including Middle Eastern styles and lavish gold embroidery, alongside radiant tones of cobalt blue and burgundy, with the juxtaposition creating such glamorous silhouettes.
Each design was dextrously created, enriched with elegance and beauty. My favourite pieces were the dusky pink and gold gown, called ‘Santorini Nights,’ composed of ombré pink and gold embroidery. The tulle and silk gown also captured my eye with its gorgeous feminine silhouette. The collection actually included a large range of dusky pink pieces, which are extremely lavish and perfect for spring events.
The collection then grew with bolder tones of colours and textures. The show stopper of the collection had to be the ‘Wild Dragons,’ which rather suitably was the dress to close the show. The striking gown composed of silk organza, ribbons and tulle combined with Ostrich feathers. With black and rich red tones, the piece was magnificently fierce and eye-catching. Although the collection was Spring/ Summer, the Wild Dragon gown is so versatile and would be perfect also for the festive season.
